City of Gardena Japanese Cultural Show Photograph Albums
This collection includes five photograph albums from the City of Gardena Japanese Cultural Show sponsored by the Gardena Valley Gardeners Association. The albums contain newspaper clippings, photographs, programs, and invitation letters for the event. Topics include Japanese American gardeners, bonsai, ikebana, Japanese gardens, martial arts, and other topics related to the event and the Nikkei (Japanese American) community.
Civil Defense Literature Collection
This collection includes booklets, advertisements, pamphlets, leaflets, and ephemera related to civil defense. Subjects include advertisements on blackout products, civil defense literature and decal products, and World War Two ephemera. Also included is material related to radioactive, nuclear, and atomic attacks; and fallout shelters.
Civil Rights Collection
Civilian Conservation Corps Photograph Album
One photograph album containing 108 black-and-white photographs mostly taken at two Civilian Conservation Corps Camps. 64 of the photographs are of Camp 271 by Company 1653 at Camp Heywood (Jaype-Pierce, Idaho); 44 photographs are of Project P-230 with Company 3330 at Santa Susanna (Simi, California); and 17 photographs are taken in Pasadena, California and include images of the 1935 Rose Parade.
Ira Clark Collection
This collection contains material belonging to Ira Clark, an instructor at Pepperdine College Continuing Education Program who resided in Compton, California. A majority of the material in this collection relates to Clark's career as an educator and instructor such as syllabi; reports; instructional guides; and handbooks. Other items in this collection include photographs, magazines, and event programs.
