Abstract

This collection contains materials related to Hatsuko Mary Yoshioka Higuchi and her family. The Yoshioka family was incarcerated in Poston, Arizona, following the issuance of Executive Order 9066. Included in the collection are paintings that reflect the family’s time incarcerated, as well as objects, such as, Japanese figurines, a samurai helmet, woven baskets, and hand crafted lacquer birds, donated from Mary Higuchi’s personal collection.
