Scope and Contents

The African Diaspora Sacred Music and Musicians (ADSMM) Sheet Music Collection (1811-2010) contains 17.92 linear feet of sheet music, choral scores, full and partial scores, manuscript music, music books, and compilations. The music falls primarily into the sacred music genre, including gospels, spirituals, and classical pieces; but also includes a significant amount of secular music, ranging from jazz to popular music to Broadway musicals and operas.

Abstract

This collection contains three albums featuring mostly Afrofuturist comics created and illustrated by David L. Devilleres. The albums contain six short originial comic stories featuring characters such as: Wattz, Fire Woman, Major Soul, and others. Also included are character descriptions, and nine photographs of David L. Devilleres including an image of him in an U.S. Marine Corps uniform.
