Biographical / Historical

"Heath Row fell in love with amateur press associations—mundane and fannish alike—in his late 30s, diving in perhaps too deeply in the late 2000s.

At one time, he edited The National Fantasy Fan—he served on the board of directorate for the National Fantasy Fan Federation until the end of 2023—and contributed apazines to the N3F’s N’APA, as well as Alarums & Excursions, the American Amateur Press Association, APA-L, The Connection, ERBAPA, FAPA, The National Amateur Press Association, and Slanapa. He also served as OC for .zap!!, the apa of the old alt.zines Usenet group. And he published an apae directory later titled Blue Moon Special with the blessing of Eric L. Watts, retired editor and publisher of New Moon Directory.

He burned out terribly and went on an apahacking hiatus for about a dozen years. Now in his 50s, he’s a calmer, more settled fellow, again contributing apazines to Alarums & Excursions, APA-L, eAPA, LASFAPA, N’APA, and SAPS, and participating in the comics-oriented United Fanzine Organization. As scribe for the Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society, he currently publishes De Profundis and Menace of the LASFS. He keeps a hand in otherwise by writing letters of comment."
