Scope and Contents
This sub-series contains material related to shows, events, and entertainers that Ed Pearl produced. The majority of the material in this sub-series relates to San Francisco Mime Troupe shows such as: Factwino Meets the Moral Majority; Factwino vs. Armageddonman; Americans or Last Tango in Huehuetenango; Steeltown; Ripped Van Winkle; and other performances. Also included in this sub-series are documents regarding benefit shows for Mexico City earthquake victims, “Hands Off the Americas, a Rally to end U.S. Intervention for Self Determination Throughout Central America in celebration of the 7th anniversary of the 1979 Nicaraguan Revolution”, a Pete Seeger performance to save Sunset Hall, and Art Against Apartheid- a school assembly program for teaching students about apartheid in South Africa; as well as material related to a Paul Robeson centennial event, and KPFK-FM radio station. A majority of the KPFK-FM documents are in regards to: corporate fundraising grievances; programming and management concerns regarding KPFK's parent organization; Pacific Radio Foundation; and free speech and anti-censorship efforts. Also included are clippings; event flyers; Pacifica reports and articles of incorporation; and material related to the Committee to Save Free Speech Radio and the Free Pacifica Neighborhood Network.
