Scope and Contents

This series contains clippings; press releases; invoices; flyers; newsletters; sheet music; event programs; periodicals; photographs; and other material belonging to Ed Pearl. A majority of the material in this series relates to various shows, events, and entertainers that Pearl produced such as the San Francisco Mime Troupe; "Art Against Apartheid", "Hands off the Americas"; Pete Seeger for a “save Sunset Hall” event; a Paul Robeson centennial event; and a KPFK-FM radio show "Up from the Ash Grove". Also included are materials related to Pearl's personal interests in folk music and politics and includes some of his essays and articles he wrote for "Peace Call" and "Common Sense Bulletin"; as well as newspaper clippings and political cartoons mostly related to the Gulf War; personal correspondence, notes, news stories and an interview with Pearl; and other material. This series is arranged into three sub-series.
