One in a Million Campaign Plans, 1985
Scope and Content
The records in the CSU Alumni Council Collection largely relate to the “One in a Million Campaign” - a project dedicated to locating alumni from various CSU campuses. The campaign was billed as a "first-of-its-kind, multi-media campaign to identify and locate alumni who have lost contact with the CSU campuses they attended." The four month campaign used radio and TV public service announcements, billboards and newspapaer ads announcing an 800 number alumni could call to be placed on an alumni list to keep in contact with the CSU. The PSA's featured celebrity alumni like the Smothers Brothers, and Johnny Mathis. The project was financed by a $200,000 grant from the Hewlett Foundation of Palo Alto.
Other material include news releases, advertising and public relations plans, reports to the Board of Trustees, information pamphlets, newsletters, meeting minutes and materials, and other administrative materials including directories, by-laws and constitutions.
