The Crisis is the official magazine of the National Association for Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) founded by W.E.B. DuBois, Oswald Garrison Villard, J. Max Barber, Charles Edward Russell, Kelly Miller, William Stanley Braithwait, and Mary Dunlop Maclean. The Crisis was first published in 1910 and is considered to be the oldest African American publication. The series contains various issues published between 1965-2009.
