Abstract

This collection contains 36 photographs of early Redondo Beach, mostly depicting images of Hotel Redondo. Images of the hotel include shots of the interior and exterior; north and south entrances; Red Line train tracks in front of the hotel; and the grounds. Also included are images of Redondo Beach that feature the beach, pier, dock, casino, bath house, and pavilion; as well as images of small boats in the Pacific Ocean.

Ikemi Family Photographs

Abstract

This collection includes seventy digitized photographs documenting the life of the Ikemi family before, during, and after World War II. Images in the collection include photographs of friends and family of the Ikemi family, including June and Julie Sugimoto, and incarcerated Japanese Americans at the Poston Incarceration Camp.

Indonesian Sailors Deportation Photograph Collection

Abstract

This collection contains nine photographs, one flyer, and one magazine related to the detetion of a group of Indonesian seamen in 1947. The images depict about 200-300 men at an immigration detetion center in downtown San Francisco, at the Southern Pacific depot in San Francisco, and on a ship called the "Marine Lync" in San Francisco Bay. The photographs in this collection have been digitized and are available online.
