Scope and Contents

The ONE Archives Ephemera Collection (1952-2020; undated) contains two boxes of materials related to the events hosted by and held at the ONE Archives. Such events include music festivals, literary events,and events regarding activism. Materials from the event include brochures, inventory pages, staff listings, website pages, flyers, booklets, emails, and postcards. Also included in this collection is one series of publications containing magazines and newsletters about and by the ONE Archives including: "IGLA Bulletin", "ONE Calendar", "On the Purple Circuit", and "ONE National Gay and Lesbian Archives Newsletter".

This collection is arranged alphabetically by event type, followed by an alphabetical listing of publications by title.

Permission for publication is given on behalf of Special Collections as the owner of the physical materials and not intended to include or imply permission of the copyright holder, which must also be obtained.

Biographical / Historical

ONE Institute, formerly known as ONE Archives Foundation, is the oldest active LGBTQ+ organization, founded in 1952. It is known to be the largest collection of material related to the LGBTQ+ community globally. In 2010, ONE Archive became a part of the University of Southern California libraries. The main goal of the ONE Archives at USC is to ensure that material from and by the LGBTQ+ community is properly preserved and accessible to those who need them. ONE Institute also strives to maintain a large repository with a large range of representation such as the narratives of Black, Indigenous, people of color (BIPOC), women, gender-nonconforming and transgender people, people of various abilities and ages among all socio-economic classes.

“Culture Series'' is a series of events hosted by the ONE Archives that include art exhibitions, literary events, music performances, guest lectures, and presentations about topics as they pertain to the LGBTQ+ community primarily by the LGBTQ+ community.
