"This is seen in Lincoln Park. So many people had no way to cook so they fix(ed) big brick furnaces and cooked on wood fires, and fed thousands of people, they ran night and day, and never charged a cent, anyone could go and get a meal. They had a wonderful system for relief work."-June Ridgeway
