Scope and Contents

Career development in the trades is an umbrella term that encompasses professional meetings, events, workshops, apprenticeship, community projects, education and other career development programs to prepare women with the skills necessary to succeed in trades such as construction, transportation, and manufacturing. This series contains reports, proposals, budgets, correspondence, applications, brochures, flyers, notes, meeting minutes, job postings, and other documents relating to topics such as apprenticeship, training, outreach, mentoring, education programs, and networking opportunities for women in the trades. The bulk of the materials in this series focus on the OTI sponsored annual Women in Trades Fair event, Women in Apprenticeship and Nontraditional Occupations (WANTO) grant funded projects, such as Pathways to Success, and community based projects such as the Oregon Construction Workforce Alliance (OCWA) Equity Project, City of Portland projects, and Construction Apprenticeship Workforce Solutions (CAWS) projects.This series is divided into six sub-series according to subject matter.
