Scope and Contents
Included are copies of letters written by Fumio Fred Takano. In these letters he seeks assistance from his non-Japanese American friend, Florence Packer, during the war. She was appointed as his attorney-in-fact prior to his incarceration. Fumio was able to get his truck delivered from Los Angeles to the Gila River with Mrs. Parker’s assistance, and his sister, Akiko Nakashima, and her family were able to leave the camp by the truck.
