Scope and Contents
This series contains materials such as newsletters, magazines, meeting agendas and notes, memorandums and brochures collected by Madeline Mixer that document her affiliation and work with tradeswomen organizations and related groups. The documents in this series reflect women's advocacy and work to organize, educate, and support themselves in their pursuit of skilled trades and nontraditional occupations, as well as equal employment opportunities in general. Organizations represented in this series include Tradeswomen, Inc., Sacramento Tradeswomen, Southern California Tradeswomen Network, Women in Non-traditional Employment Roles (WINTER), California Nontraditional Employment for Women (NEW), Women’s Maritime Association, Women Construction Owners and Executives USA, California Tradeswomen Policy Committee, and Los Angeles County Commission for Women.
