This series contains materials on issues related to activism and civic events; affirmative action; arts; community development; employment and barriers to employment such as childcare and transportation issues; equality and equal opportunity; gender, especially as it relates to education, employment, and the workplace; industries; labor and labor unions; racism; sexual harassment; tradeswomen; and welfare. The Subject Files also contain a sequence of folders concerning the U.S. Department of Labor and the U.S. Department of Labor Women's Bureau. Folders are arranged alphabetically by subject and contain materials ranging from reports, hearings, and testimony to poetry (by Sue Doro), news clippings, flyers, fact sheets, program descriptions, and guides. The Subject File also includes one folder of ephemera, which contains union and bumper stickers, patches, and a lapel pin depicting a tradeswoman
