Scope and Contents
Sub-Series B: Personal Correspondence, Friends and Notable People (1946-2010) contains the correspondence of Art Kunkin with friends, business colleagues, and other associates throughout his life. This sub-series has been arranged alphabetically by last name of correspondents. Subject matter of these correspondence range from socialist politics, the Los Angeles Free Press, publishing and editorial work, alchemy, spiritualism, and general personal topics. This sub-series contains correspondence and letters with notable journalists, publishers, writers such as Mae Brussel, Jeanne Cordova, Harlan Ellison, Larry Flynt, Donald Freed, Fred Hoffman, Jerry Hopkin, Paul Krassner, Lawrence Lipton, Deena Metzger, Marvin Miller, Abe Peck, James W. Prescott, Lyle Stuart, John Wilcock, Liza Williams, and Gene Youngblood. This sub-series also includes correspondence and letters to and from notable people such as Ram Dass, Raya Dunayevskaya, Don Healey (former husband of Dorothy Healey), Walter King, CLR James, Timothy Leary, Isa-Kae Meksin, and Jeanne Morgan, Hans Nintzel, and Ed Pearl. This sub-series also contains letters from partners of Art Kunkin including Suzanne Smolka, Julia Henson, Valerie Porter, Ingrid Nettleship, and Elaine Wallace.
