Sub-Series I: The Big Issue Files (1997-1999) contains material related to Kunkin's work as the American editor for The Big Issue, a London-based street newspaper sold by unhoused people as a source of income. Art Kunkin briefly served as the editor for an American edition of the periodical. Kunkin served as editor while working with Ted Hayes, a Los Angeles activist, at Dome Village while also revitalizing the Los Angeles Free Press. Material in this sub-series includes memos, reports, correspondence, emails, and records from the North American Street Newspaper Association Conference.
