Scope and Contents
The Karani Marcia Leslie Johnson Collection (circa 1950s-1970s, 1990-2024; undated) contains one box and 1.5 linear ft. of material regarding videotape editor, author, and playwright Karani Marcia Leslie Johnson. Included in this collection are flyers, theater programs, advertisements, newspaper articles, royalty reports, certificates, memorandums, letters, play scripts, and other material regarding Johnson's play The Trial of One Short-Sighted Black Woman vs. Mammy Louise and Safreeta Mae. Also included in this collection are copies of articles written by Johnson; biographical information and articles about Johnson; certificates; a script written by Johnson for "The Cosby Show"; material related to videotape editing such as program format forms and MDC Ingest/ML forms, and instructions for archiving video projects; photographs; and flyers regarding events moderated by Johnson at CAAM.
