川柳しがらみ吟社 Senryu Shigarami Ginsha, 1996 April 1
Scope and Contents
A reprint of an anthology of senryu poems, "川柳鈴蛇 Senryu Suzuhebi," which was originally published by one of the senryu circles, 川柳しがらみ吟社 Senryu Shigarami Ginsha, on January 28, 1943. 川柳しがらみ吟社 Senryu Shigarami Ginsha was let by the prominent senryu leader, 清水其蜩 Shimizu Kicho, in the Jerome incarceration camp in Denson, Arkansas during the war. The reprint was published by 山中桂甫 Yamanaka Keiho, who was the former incarceree and a member of the circle in the camp. After the war, he collected original bulletins from former incarcerees and published the reprint of the anthology. The original material is held by the Japanese American National Musuem in Los Angeles, California.
