Scope and Contents
The Howard J. Singer Photograph and A/V Collection (1967-1969, 1978; circa 1960s-1970s) contains 4 boxes and 2.63 linear ft. of photographs; negatives, and 35 mm slides presumably taken by Singer. Images were primarily taken in Los Angeles, CA., New York City, Washington D.C., Boston, MA., and San Francisco, CA., and feature: grocery stores; hotels; restaurants, homes, and other buildings; parking lots; parks; LA Zoo; candid photographs of friends, colleagues, and family; artwork; events such as an Easter Love in at Elysian Park, Rally for Israel's Survivial at Hollywood Bowl (June 1967), a Hazard Park protest, a protest outside of KNXT, school talent show, USC homecoming, a parade in Watts, and an astronauts parade (NY); and landmarks suchs as the National Mall and Monuments (Washington D.C.); Paul Revere's house, USS Constitution, churches, government center (Boston, MA.); Golden Gate Bridge, Palace of Fine Arts (San Francisco); Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Bronx Zoo, Wall St., Guggenheim, New York skyline, United Nations, and Brooklyn Bridge (New York City). Also included in this collection are reel-to-reel tapes and audiocassettes featuring lecture series and talks on various topics such as urban renewal, and economics.
