Series II: Editorial Tor, 1942-1957
Scope and Contents
This series contains 66 items, representing two-thirds of Editorial Tor's "La Abeja" (the Bee) series. While a variety of artists and illustrators worked on these storybooks, the overall design remained consistent -- the front cover illustration continues on to the back cover, presumably to give children a visual sense of the setting while the story is read to them.
This series contains samples of the wide range of subject matter of the La Abeja imprint, including both original material and adaptations of stories by authors of many lands, including Charles Dickens, Washington Irving, Jonathan Swift,Hans Christian Anderson, the Brothers Grimm, Geoffrey Chaucer, and many others
