This series contains newspaper issues; newsletters; press releases; flyers; and other material that was published in the United States by members of the Armed Forces; student activist groups; and anti-war and anti-military support groups. A majority of the publications are part of the G.I. underground press movement that were either created on military bases; or by active duty, veterans, discharged G.I.s, deserters, and draft resisters who wanted to create anti-war material for their peers. Cover and masthead states it is "The Banner" Vol. XX, No. 18, newspaper of the 193rd Infantry Brigade (Panama) but it is actually an issue of "About Face!" a "newspaper for lower-ranking U.S. military personnel (and anyone else who might be interested)".
