Series IV: Rebellion Materials and Other Research, 1941-1993; undated, bulk: 1992-1993

This series contains two sub-series. Sub-Series i: Rebellions and Riots consists of news coverage and research regarding rebellions. Two rebellions are covered in the scope of the materials: the Attica Prison Rebellion of 1971 and the Los Angeles Rebellion of 1992. A majority of the materials are newspapers, however there are magazines, an education trade publication, and an early academic study of the Rodney King Rebellion present as well. Sub-Series ii: Other Research Topics contains reports, articles, books, and other documents that pertain to non-gang related subjects. Documents include economic growth surveys of the Los Angeles and San Diego areas, a general plan for the city of Compton, a report on Chicano workers, and others.
