From the Collection:

The Male and Female Impersonators Sheet Music Collection (1906-1922) contains six pieces of sheet music featuring images of male and female impersonator vaudeville acts. Three out of the six pieces of sheet music feature the male impersonation acts: Florence Tempest (born Claire Lillian Ijames) sometimes billed as Florenze Tempest who alongside her sister Marion Sunshine were known as “Sunshine and Tempest”; and Claire Romaine, nicknamed “London’s Pet Boy”. Another piece of sheet music features John Russell of the Russell Brothers who were known for their comedy act, “The Irish Servant Girls".
