Biographical / Historical

The 2019-2020 Hong Kong protests, also known as the Anti-Extradition Law Amendment Bill Movement were protests in response to the introduction of the Fugitive Offenders amendment bill. This bill would have allowed for extradition of fugitives from Hong Kong to mainland China under some circumstances. Protests began around mid-March 2019 and continued throughout 2020. The bill was officially withdrawn in October 23, 2019.
