Theatre Arts Building Completion, 1976

This series documents the development of the CSUDH Theatre Department through its early years in the Playbox Theatre to the completion of the New University Theatre.

The growth of the Theatre Department is chronicled through productions such as "My Fair Lady", the first production in the New University Theatre. Flyers, programs, newspapers, and Theatre News among others are included to tell this story. Items from before the achievement of university status, the days of California State College, Dominguez Hills, join these files to show the early days of the theatre and its productions.

Newspapers and other forms of correspondence contain pieces of celebrations towards the completion of the new theatre building as well as new productions to take place within the theatre building. Theatre news also contains information regarding the attitudes of those within the program, and the inner workings of the theatre as well.
